I took the week off from work with the intent of sewing all week, of course after the new XBOX360 release with netflix, I got sucked into Jericho... second season was a major dissapointment, the fact that I watched both seasons in a room where my sewing machine was not very productive, but the mind escape was good.
Then I got to sewing. I finished binding (which I have yet to learn to love) made a few dish clothes... and loaded them (well the quilts and a few of the dish clothes) up on my etsy shop.
I am even offering free shipping on quilts for the holidays!!
This weekend was crazy busy.
Saturday I was barely home, when I got home I knit for about an hour in front of the television.
Today I am not really sure where the day went, I did finish the dish cloth and work on the triangle quilt; I think this will be my UFO to finish this month… If I say it, I have to do it right.
As for getting rid of supplies that I do not use; I have a scrap bag. Anyone want it? It is packed with tons of scraps from projects over the last few months in varying sizes. If you want it PM me; the first person gets it.
[edit: Scraps gone! CubistLiterature will give it a new home and promises to make good use of it.]
Though my head is no longer pounding, I was not in the mood to deal with sewing machine noise tonight, so I decided to knit.
I am making a dishcloth for my etsy shop using a basic seed stitch with size seven needles and cotton.
I am making a quilt with squares from Quilt Square Swapping on getCrafty and the leftover pieces from the quilts I have made. Tonight I finished scrapping together squares for the current swap and the blue and yellow quilt. I think I have nearly enough pieces to finish the top of this one.
Yesterday I gave the blue and yellow quilt to P and she loves it. She said it is going to live in her living room.
If there is one thing you can be sure of it is that I am a bit sick and tired of the blue and yellows...
You may have noticed that of late there has not been much crafty activity in my world. It has been all work all the time. When I was not working I was so pooped I was sleeping.
This week went by pretty fast but was so busy.
So tonight I hung out with my friends TxK and J9 (my friends are robots it would seem). We had a lovely little craft night.
We are all working on quilts, TxK made some potholders and then huge headway on her “brown” (formerly “school yard”) quilt.
J9 proved herself to be the most organized quilter of the three of us, saying it was her cats that made her do it. It is really quite impressive, as I am quite the lazy quilter.
I finished, yes you read that right FINISHED the blue and
yellow quilt, which is good because I am seeing them on Sunday and will be able
to pass it on. J9's cat with as many names quite liked the quilt and kept plopping herself down on it.
Oh happy days!
I did not make much progress on the blue and yellow quilt today. Sleep was calling.
I cut 2½“ wide strips for the binding, which I will work on tomorrow or this weekend. I will take pictures of the progress and try to include a bit of a how to (though I probably make all kinds of technical mistakes).
I think I am going to watch some television and work on the tacking.
