Writing this made me realize that I need to write more, I have been a little stale. Today I am moving my desk from my garage to my sewing room... then I can sew and create and write... no more excuses.

Not sure if you made it and we missed you or you didn’t make it. As we entered through a purple haze a little after 9:20 there was a steady beat, that continued while we stood there and people got things sorted. There was barely anyone there and they hardly looked ready, rather than offer to help we decided to get some fresh air and skip the beer and wine in favor of some of the harder stuff. We exited back through the haze and headed around the corner to the Bit (once the workin’ mans saloon now something about it being a dive bar). One drink we a listened to a guy express that he liked Seattle because it is where it is ok for a black man to like country and punk, enjoyed the occasional juke box sign-a-longs, even joined in a few ourselves… we realized it was 10 so we headed back. The haze was still strong and had shifted just slightly. The same beat droned on. There was no cleverness. Chatted with a few folks asked if anyone had seen you and knowing Johnny would be there all night asked him to keep an eye out for you and to let you know we had been and gone back to the bit. Back to the bit we had a second drink and chatted with some locals. I love the bit. I think it was another hour past and we headed out, back around the corner, TxK almost lost her life as a car careened around the corner with no regard for human life. I hollered “car!” and her life was spared as she darted like a ninja out of the way. Granted it would have been WAY cooler if she had jumped and flipped and landed on her feet on the hood of the car and gone for a joy ride, but this is real life not an action film, so instead you just have to imagine that is what she did, even though she didn’t.
We contemplated walking back in before climbing into the rig, it was a little past 11 now, and the haze had moved to the sidewalk, and was wafting like the evil black cloud in Lost towards us. We opted for the Chariot to take out leave of that place.
Hope you had an equally as exciting Friday.
Yesterday TxK and I decided to venture out of the snowfields of the eastside and head south in search of warmer weather…
To Puyallup we went to the Spring Fair and to the Smashfest Demo Derby. Even with the frigid tempatures (for April in Washington anyway), we had a super fun time.
Heck I'd go so far as to say: Best $20 I have spent on live entertainment in a long time.
I also found a most wonderful wool hoodie sweater and a carmel apple, both of which have been on my hunt list for a while now.
A little while ago I decided it was time to move. My friend TxK was also looking at moving and found a place closer to work, than where I was living. It just so happened there was more than one unit available, so I decided to move to the neighborhood too. I am still moving, but I will soon have a whole room for crafting!! I have not done much other than pack and unpack, but soon.
Through it all I discovered my new favorite movie. If you like action movies with a little humor, or you simply find Clive Owen as hot as I do (I even named a goldfish after him), you will love this flick.
Today was I <3 Rummage day which went alright. The Dead Runnies were a hit and I sold five or six. Then we headed out to pet store we had dropped by while “canvassing” yesterday, they guy who we spoke to yesterday was working and snagged a few samples to show his boss, a.k.a the owner of the store. It was nice because he picked up a sampling of both mine and TxK’s stuff. After we left there we headed over to another locally owned pet store to see what she thought. She put in a trial order to see how they sell. Now I have to make 18+ Dead Runnies! TxK has to make some pigs and another toy, but I have no idea exactly what to call it. She also wants some vests, so tomorrow we are going to figure out a single pattern (since right now we have four or five) and make them in a set of three sizes. All this plus work. Woot! It will be fin though the challenge is to make sure that I am getting the appropriate amount of money for each Dead Runnie. It was a pretty crazy day, well weekend really.
I need to just sit down and cut, cut, cut and sew, sew, sew. Umlaut was pretty happy with it because he walked away with some of the prototypes, now there is no room for him in his crate as it is jam packed with toys. Not that he likes his crate anyway.
