I took the week off from work with the intent of sewing all week, of course after the new XBOX360 release with netflix, I got sucked into Jericho... second season was a major dissapointment, the fact that I watched both seasons in a room where my sewing machine was not very productive, but the mind escape was good.
Then I got to sewing. I finished binding (which I have yet to learn to love) made a few dish clothes... and loaded them (well the quilts and a few of the dish clothes) up on my etsy shop.
I am even offering free shipping on quilts for the holidays!!
Tonight I worked on some pot holders, I am very pleased with the way they turned out... granted I still need to put the binding on one of them, I am sure that will go fine.
I am slowly working on christmas crafting... one thing at a time... one thing at a time...
Apparently the hill that my building is on is sliding a block south of me... yeah that gives me comfort.
Vox meet my matched luggage, matched luggage meet Vox. It is actually more of a bubble gum pink than that picture would have you believe, but I quite like that picture.
I am off on the road again.
This time I am going to visit my craftilicious friend Miss Ess in the
land of Ohio.
The last time I was
intentionally in Ohio was to visit miss Gracey Larue*. She was a neighbors’ great aunt or something. I should see if she is still alive and visit
her if she is. She was a delightful
older woman (in her late 80s in the early 90s) that I used to love visiting when en-route between college and
home. I am pretty sure I have not been
back since, save for the occasional lay over. She introduced me to these weirdly delicious fried eggy cornbread things; mmm butter and syrup. She said it was old people food: easy to chew, tastes good and some (though limited) health benefits.
Today is errand and warsh day.
Errands first: I headed out to the pet store then the bank after which I hit the grocery store.
As I strolled through the aisles I was confused to discover the Fluff with the Manishewitz. Is there a reason for this? I am not a fluff eater but I would have expected it perhaps with the chocolate, or the peanut butter. Can someone explain this?
The warsh is half done; of course the dryer did not want to dry the first time around. Luckily I picked up quarters while I was out. I also picked up fish food so that my cousin has something to feed Clive, as well as 2 new light bulbs for the tank, on of the blasted things does not work. GRRR ARGH!
I suppose it is a good thing that I wear the same thing all year round: tank, t, hoodie and jeans.
It looks like the weather should be similar to what I am used to, but then who really knows.
Today is lovely. It is actually about 74 outside now.
The mountains are out.
What a delightful day to not be at work. Sadly I cannot go meet Christopher for drinks, but my sushi lunch avec beer is quite suitable…
I am sure it is of no surprise that I have created a quilting group in the vox groups....
join up quilters!
I started out the day in a pretty crabby mood; my morning was less that delightful. The day turned out to be not anything like it had started. A meeting turned errand running, turned lunch, turned 4 hours later was a really great way to get to know a co-worker better. I was so chatty it was nuts.
Then when I got home it was like a birthday because swap squares have begun to arrive! I have been sponsoring quilt square swaps
through getCrafty for about a year now.
It is a great way to see other peoples work and fabrics.
This go around we had 8 people sign up, so each person sends me 2 squares per person (not including them) and then I sort and send them back 2 squares from each person who signed up.
I have almost enough to make a whole quilt with swapped squares.
If you are interested I will be sponsoring another next month!
In other equally exciting news, I also received a
delightful black squirrel care package from Miss. Ess! If you do not think she is the best then you are dumb.
I have finished and uploaded another pair of bags to my Etsy shop. These are the exact same measurements as the Kymberlee bag.
Description: While not only for knitters, at about 14” tall, knitters on the go will love this bag: its deep design holds the long knitting needles without sticking out, it is even big enough to carry your yarn and patterns. It features an exterior pocket (perfect for a cell phone or MP3 player) and a cotton chicken lining.
Last night I finished up two knitters bags, they are both the same: this is the Kymberlee bag. Up on SITA on etsy they go.
I have enough fabric to make at least 3 more if not 4 more.
I have now cut the pieces for the Chicken and Stripes bag.
