I took the week off from work with the intent of sewing all week, of course after the new XBOX360 release with netflix, I got sucked into Jericho... second season was a major dissapointment, the fact that I watched both seasons in a room where my sewing machine was not very productive, but the mind escape was good.
Then I got to sewing. I finished binding (which I have yet to learn to love) made a few dish clothes... and loaded them (well the quilts and a few of the dish clothes) up on my etsy shop.
I am even offering free shipping on quilts for the holidays!!
I finally finished with the binding and backing that i meant to do a few weeks back but ended up sleeping instead. I have also been working on a commisioned baby quilt for a friends sister-in-law's new little girl.
She requested modern colors and style, I like combining classic fabrics and modern design, I am really happy with the way it turned out.
Now I should be sewing and updating my etsy shop and put some quilts up there.
If anyone is interested in a baby or lap quilt (make GREAT Holiday gifts) please let me know.
I am thinking I might use some vacation time and make a stock of them...
A few weeks back my boss had a baby boy. I have not worked for her all that long, but she is a really great boss so I wanted to make something for her. I do not really know what her style is so I thought that a nice gift might be a travel changing pad for the diaper bag... so that is what I made.
I also hung a light above my sewing table today, which I officially love. It isn't a fancy light, but I was going for function. After a little misshap with a stud in the ceiling... all is well.
Perhaps one day I will cut only enough fabric for a quilt top (outside of preset bits of fabric) but until that day comes I will continue to have bits left-over. Sometimes even enough for another quilt... I still have triangles from the triangle quilt... they haunt me... but I digress. I took the bits and sewed and cut and cut and sewed and then there it was. A lovely little blue lap, couch or baby quilt.
I still need to go batting shopping... I am not entirely looking for a weekend full of binding...
I put binding on the Christmas quilt.
I finished piecing and found backing for the small corduroy quilt (with exrta blocks from the big corduroy quilt that I still need batting for).
I started and finished piecing the top of a quilt that I made with a set of fat quarters I bought AGES ago.
Now what?
