I love this show, and even more so now because of this advert.
Writing this made me realize that I need to write more, I have been a little stale. Today I am moving my desk from my garage to my sewing room... then I can sew and create and write... no more excuses.

Not sure if you made it and we missed you or you didn’t make it. As we entered through a purple haze a little after 9:20 there was a steady beat, that continued while we stood there and people got things sorted. There was barely anyone there and they hardly looked ready, rather than offer to help we decided to get some fresh air and skip the beer and wine in favor of some of the harder stuff. We exited back through the haze and headed around the corner to the Bit (once the workin’ mans saloon now something about it being a dive bar). One drink we a listened to a guy express that he liked Seattle because it is where it is ok for a black man to like country and punk, enjoyed the occasional juke box sign-a-longs, even joined in a few ourselves… we realized it was 10 so we headed back. The haze was still strong and had shifted just slightly. The same beat droned on. There was no cleverness. Chatted with a few folks asked if anyone had seen you and knowing Johnny would be there all night asked him to keep an eye out for you and to let you know we had been and gone back to the bit. Back to the bit we had a second drink and chatted with some locals. I love the bit. I think it was another hour past and we headed out, back around the corner, TxK almost lost her life as a car careened around the corner with no regard for human life. I hollered “car!” and her life was spared as she darted like a ninja out of the way. Granted it would have been WAY cooler if she had jumped and flipped and landed on her feet on the hood of the car and gone for a joy ride, but this is real life not an action film, so instead you just have to imagine that is what she did, even though she didn’t.
We contemplated walking back in before climbing into the rig, it was a little past 11 now, and the haze had moved to the sidewalk, and was wafting like the evil black cloud in Lost towards us. We opted for the Chariot to take out leave of that place.
Hope you had an equally as exciting Friday.
My week (even having taken a 5 day weekend) has been crazy and I am tired.
I brought Dözer back to the shelter.
Cue “booooh”.
He was not very happy about it. In fact I had to drag him back to his kennel, he was spread eagle, head on the floor REFUSING.
Wednesday I worked my volunteer shift.
The dogs were crazy. Everyone barking, many peeing in their cages, tipping water buckets, pooping… Goldie climbed into an adjoining kennel. Dozer was chill, he even shook a little.
So I took him home again.
One night a week I volunteer at an animal shelter, this past week there was a dog there that looks a lot like a dog I had as a kid. The shelter is taking care of the flooring and wanted to get foster homes for the dogs so that they did not have to be near the fumes. So how could I resists??
It is kind of crazy having a big dog at my house, but the first hour seems to be going pretty well.
Outside of that, I also recently photographed a friends wedding. I am pretty happy with the way the images turned out. It was nice because I was able to get another friend of mine to help out and take pics too.
I also went to another wedding out of town a few weekends ago and this weekend I had a bithday....
ohohohOHHAHahAHAHAHAHAhahAHAHA...
have I mentioned that I love the Onion?
So I was looking at this old profile of mine from classmates and came across this poem. Made me chuckle.
School
high school
schmigh school
ain't no big thing
ding a ling
the doorbell ring
if i were forced to do it over again
i may have studied once or twice
i made it out
that's what counts
It surprises even me to realize that I have been pretty busy lately, new home, new job, new car, foster dog, new volunteer work... I have even fit in some crafty goodness. I painted some chairs and other furniture and made some buttons. I will post more on that later.
Anyway. I was in B&N earlier this week to pick up Season II of Friday Night Lights... thanks Jennifer... and decided I would also pick up a few cd's - I know antiquated form of music - and TV even, but whatever, I needed the new Ashlee Simpson CD.
Don't hold it against me if you haven't heard it; if you have and you still scoff, well go bug off I didn't ask for your opinion anyway.
I have this habit of buying CDs of artists I have never heard of (though thanks to my new zune it will cost me less), but on a hunch (read as: I liked the album art nd song titles) I bought a Kate Nash CD.
Frankly I love it.
With the poppy happy tunes and the harsh lyrics, you can be mad at someone and still smile. So if you are not familiar with her and you like a little sass in your music collection, then go find a way to get it....
I recommend getting yourself a Zune pass... and if you are on Zune... I am quornflour, you can add me to your social and see all of the other crazy stuff I listen to.
Yesterday TxK and I decided to venture out of the snowfields of the eastside and head south in search of warmer weather…
To Puyallup we went to the Spring Fair and to the Smashfest Demo Derby. Even with the frigid tempatures (for April in Washington anyway), we had a super fun time.
Heck I'd go so far as to say: Best $20 I have spent on live entertainment in a long time.
I also found a most wonderful wool hoodie sweater and a carmel apple, both of which have been on my hunt list for a while now.
I <3 Television
I will admit it. I do. I <3 Television. I always have. Growing up we had an 11” black and white TV until I was about 10. Then we got a 13” color TV and cable.
I absorbed all I could get. My father was the artistic director at a television studio. I loved the production room. Televisions of every size. Everything was on. I was in commercials, but the production was what I loved. Television consumed me.
In my first apartment, where I lived alone for the first time, I did not have cable. I felt inspired to go to the gym to watch the latest shows. I had bunny ears in precarious positions for the best viewing, even if it was only “Blind Date” that I could get.
In my life I have been part of social groups based solely on a common following of a television show, from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” to “My So Called Life” to “Days of Our Lives”.
I would hide away with my secret obsession for trash reality television. Shows you avoid telling even your closest friends that you watch like “Big Brother” and “Elimidate”.
Anything that was there was for my consumption. I would turn off. Not watch TV for days, weeks even. But, it would wait for me and welcome me back to its electric arms.
Now I can sit in my office at work and catch up on many of my favorite shows. I do not have to plan around my show, or figure out how to program my VCR.
It is all at my fingertips – no Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, I won’t kill my Television.
Where do you watch TV?
