I'd venture to guess that it's because you use white the most...and every time you go to buy a spool of white you end up looking at the rest of the store too...and picking up other threads...a pretty shade of blue...an autumnal variegated....therefore for every one spool of white you end up with three "fancies"..at least that's what I do, and I am currently out of white too, lol.

I had that happen to me with black the other day. So I went when Joann had those mega sales and bought those giant cones of neutral threads for like a dollar each. Not the greatest thread, but when you're just quickly running something up, it's easy. Not that I've done any sewing lately!

Wow that is SO gorgeous. It's making me rethink having a quilt in my "someday" bedroom.
